Livingstone is located in the Southern region of Zambia lying just north of the Zambezi River. The town is a tourist centre for those visiting Victoria Falls and is a border town with Zimbabwe on the other side.
Historically a British colonial city, Livingstone was named after David Livingstone, a British explorer who was the first European to experience the area and set eyes on Victoria Falls. Not much has changed for Livingstone over the years with the main streets still lined with colonial British architecture interspersed with African designs.
Visitors flock here to enjoy the world wonder of Victoria Falls and is definitely the town's biggest attraction for not only the great views, but also the watersport activities that the falls offer. Livingstone is a place bursting with life incorporating both the historical and contemporary Zambian culture.

Livingstone has some unique activities when comparing it to the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls. Microlight flights are offered, along with bungee jumping and swinging as well as the seasonal Island Tour and Devil's swim.
